Mental Health & Addiction Treatment Programs in El Paso, Tx

Rio Vista Behavioral Health in El Paso, Texas, offers an array of programming options that are customized to meet the needs of adolescents and adults who are struggling with mental health concerns. Here, patients can receive the comprehensive care they need to begin healing.

Programs Offered at Rio Vista Behavioral Health in El Paso, Texas

At Rio Vista Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to meeting the specific needs of each of our patients. In order to do this, we offer multiple programming options so that each person will receive the care they need in the environment that will be of most benefit to them.

Adolescent Inpatient Program

Recognizing that adolescents are affected by symptoms of mental illnesses differently than adults are, we offer a specialized program that is tailored for youth between the ages of 11 and 17. Our expert clinical team takes into account this population’s stage of life and how various factors impact their daily lives. Whether an adolescent is struggling with anxiety, depression, psychosis, behavioral concerns, the effects of trauma, or mood instability, they will receive the care they need in a way that appropriately meets their physical, mental, emotional, and social stages of development.

Adult Inpatient Program

Our adult inpatient program is designed to provide care for individuals of all genders age 18 and older. Adults whose lives have been impacted by the symptoms of mental illness often require a setting in which to obtain stabilization and to have the impact of their crises attended to. This program is available to adults who are experiencing symptoms of any number of mental or behavioral concerns, including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, psychosis, and schizoaffective disorder. Once a patient is admitted into this program, they will receive an individualized plan of care that will guide them throughout their time in our hospital.

Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

Adults of all genders age 18 and above who are experiencing severe symptoms of mental illness may benefit from the care provided in our psychiatric intensive care unit, or PICU. Illnesses like bipolar disorder, major depression, schizoaffective disorder, and schizophrenia can often present with symptoms that need immediate stabilization. When this is the case, the staff in our PICU can provide appropriate interventions so that a patient can achieve the cognitive stability needed to participate in the therapies offered in a typical inpatient setting. Some patients may be able to return home or to a lower level of care after completing their time in our PICU, while others may transition to our adult inpatient unit. All transition planning is based on each individual’s needs.

Specialty Inpatient Program

There are times when patients are suffering from concerns that require additional interventions to those that are offered in a traditional inpatient setting. Our specialty inpatient program offers these types of interventions for geriatric patients and patients who have coexisting medical conditions. Geriatric patients will be admitted into this program based on their level of need and physical abilities. Patients with non-acute, coexisting medical concerns will be cared for by a team of professionals who are trained in providing care for both mental illness and medical concerns simultaneously.
